New Canton April 23rd, 1850,
I hereby acknowledge that I am indebted to John Stanley to the amount of Thirty eight Dollars which shall be paid out of my property which I leave in his possession, providing I do not return from California within the space of two years from date.

John Stanly Probate Record - Pike County, Illinois
State of Illinois, of the January Term of the Pike Count Court, A.D. 1850 The petition of William H. Upinghouse and Nancy Uppinghouse respectfully represent that on or about the 9th day of July, A.D. 1851, one John Stanly of said County died intestate leaving Nancy Stanly hismwidow who has since intermarried with the said William H. Uppinghouse and is now one of your petitioners, and James R. Stanly, Charles Stanly, Joseph Stanly, Susan Stanly, Mary Jane Gillett and James Gillett, her husband, Rachael Coney (or Correy) and .... Coney (or Correy), her husband, Moses Stanly, Wesley Stanley and Harrison Stanly all of whom are brothers and sisters of said John Stanly, deceased, except the said James Gillett and .... Coney (or Correy), who are intermarried with the sisters of said deceased. That said deceased left no children, descendants of children or father or mother and that the above named are the only heirs at law of said deceased. Three of said heirs, to wit: Moses, Wesley and Harrison are minors under the age of twenty one years. That on the 25th day of July, A.D. 1851 your petitioner Nancy Uppinghouse, then Nancy Stanley, was appointed administratrix of the estate of said deceased and by the County Court aforesaid as will more fully appear to the Court by said letters of administration.

State of Illinois, Pike County Court
January Term A.D. 1852
To the Honorable James Ward, Judge of said County Court.
The petitions of James R. Stanley, administrator of all and singular goods and chattles, rights and credits which were of Geroge Stanley late of said County deceased who died intestate, respectfully represents; that on or about the 16th day of May AD 1851 the said George Stanley departed this life intestate leaving no Father or Mother or children or descendants of children; that he left the following brothers and sisters who are his only heirs at law, to wit: James R. Stanley, Charles Stanley, Joseph Stanley, Susan Stanley, Mary J. Gillett who is intermarried with James Gillett, Rachel Coney (or Correy), who had intermarried with ....Coney (or Correy), Moses Stanley, Wesley Stanley and Harrison Stanley, the three last named to wit: Moses, Wesley and Harrison are minors under the age of twenty one years. That on the 25th day of August, A.D. 1851, your petitioner was by said Court only appointed as administrator of the estate of said intestate as by theletters of administration here showen to the court will fully appear.
